Bemidji, MN – With the 2015 Indoor Football League season almost at hand, the Bemidji Axemen have finalized their coaching staff for the upcoming season.  Assisting Axemen head coach Dixie Wooten on the field this season will be Anquanius Frazier (Defensive Coordinator), Andy Endemann (Defensive Line Coach), Zac Tubbs (Offensive Line Coach), Peter Nelson (Offensive Assistant), and Lee Patten (Assistant Head Coach).

In his first year as Defensive Coordinator for the Axemen, Frazier looks to ramp up a defense that ranked seventh in total defense last season  Spending the last two seasons as defensive back for the Texas Revolution, Frazier looks to use his experience to improve the Axemen defense.  In his last season with the Revolution, Frazier recorded 49 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.

“Having Coach Frazier on board is a great addition,” Wooten stated.  “He knows my defensive system and his work ethic is unreal.  Players will work hard because he will work hard with them.”

Also helping on the defensive front for the Axemen is first year defensive line coach Andy Endemann.   Endemann has a variety of indoor experience, playing for both the New Mexico Stars of the Lone Star Football League as well as the Everett Raptors, formerly of the Indoor Football League.  In his season with the Raptors, Endemann had 11 tackles for a loss and three-and-a-half sacks.

“Andy is one of the defensive linemen I have ever seen in the indoor game,” reflected Wooten.  “It’s an honor to have him on the staff.  He is a technician and a hard worker.”

Looking to improve an offensive line that struggled last season is first year offensive line coach Zac Tubbs.  Tubbs played his college career at the University of Arkansas, where he blocked for the likes of Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hillis.  After college, Tubbs signed a free agent contract with the Buffalos Bills and most recently played for the Sioux Falls Storm of the Indoor Football League, where he won a pair of United Bowl championships.

“The big guy was a great offensive lineman in his playing days with Sioux Falls,” stated Wooten.  “He will bring toughness, hard work, and smartness to the team.  I’m glad to have Zac on board.”

Offensively, Peter Nelson is back for his second season with the Axemen.  A Bemidji resident and Bemidji State alum, Nelson returns to help an explosive Axemen offense aiming to be the best in the league.  In addition to being an offensive assistant, Nelson also serves as the Director of Player Personnel for the Axemen and has experience working in the Personnel Department of the NFL’s Cleveland Browns.

“Pete is a very impressive young coach.  He is a hard worker that loves learning every part of the game,” Wooten shared.  “His energy makes us better and he will be a great offensive mind in indoor football.”

Assistant Head Coach Lee Patten also returns for his second season with the Axemen.  Patten, a Bemidji resident and Hall of Famer at Bemidji State University, looks to help improve an Axemen team with high goals for the 2015 season.  As a senior at Bemidji State, Patten lead the Beavers in rushing yards and earned team MVP honors.  After playing collegiately, Patten earned a workout with the Minnesota Vikings.

“Having an assistant head coach like Lee is a major part of me growing as a great coach,” reflected Wooten.  “A guy that is a collegiate Hall of Famer giving me thoughts is really great.”

The Bemidji Axemen kick off their season in February of 2015 on Palace Casino Field at the Sanford Center.  Season tickets are now on sale starting as low as $56 each and can be purchased online through .  For more information, please contact the Axemen offices as (218)444-8216.
