Bemidji, MN – The Bemidji Axemen have boosted their rushing attack by signing running back Mulku Kalokoh (Moo-koo Kuh-low-koh) to their 2015 roster.

Kalokoh (5’10”, 193 lbs.) last played football at Southern Illinois University.  As a senior, Kalokoh posted 131 rushing yards on 31 carries while adding 34 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown for the Salukis.  He was highly utilized in the special teams game at SIU, recording 487 kick return yards and blocking two kicks.  He earned MVFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors as a senior.

Prior to Southern Illinois, Kalokoh played two seasons at Coffeyville Community College, where he was an All-KJCCC honorable mention in 2010.  In his time at Coffeyville, Kalokoh rushed for 1,197 yards and 18 touchdowns while adding 89 receptions for 798 yards and four receiving touchdowns.  He also returned kicks and punts for the team.

“With Mulku, we have a great talent that can help our team in a lot of ways,” head coach Dixie Wooten stated.  “We can utilize him in our rushing, receiving, and return game.  He’s a versatile player that gives our team a lot of options.”

Bemidji, MN – The Bemidji Axemen have signed former Buffalo Bills defensive back Jajuan Harley.  Harley spent this year’s NFL Preseason with the Buffalo Bills, playing in all four preseason games with the team.  He made it to the end of training camp before being released as a part of final cuts.

Harley signed with the Axemen last season before signing a Futures Contract with the Bills just before the Axemen kicked off training camp in February.

“Signing Jajuan is a big piece to our puzzle for making a run to a championship.  Bringing a high caliber guy like him in is great for our program,” Axemen head coach Dixie Wooten stated.  “He brings NFL talent to a solid secondary.  It’s truly a pleasure to have Jajuan on our team.”

Harley played his senior year of college at Middle Tennessee State, where he played in all 12 games after sitting out the previous year due to NCAA transfer regulations.  He recorded 74 tackles, three interceptions, and one forced fumble for the Blue Raiders.

Prior to transferring to Middle Tennessee State, Harley played at Florida State University.  Harley appeared in 11 games in his two years for the Seminoles before transferring due to coaching changes.

Out of high school, Harley was a four-star recruit and was ranked the nation’s 10 th best safety.  He earned PrepStar All-American Honors as a senior at Rickards High School.

Bemidji, MN – It’s almost that time of year, Axemen fans!  With the 2015 Indoor Football League season right around the corner, the wait is over for who the Bemidji Axemen will play in their upcoming season.

Opening the season, the Axemen have a four-game home stand at Palace Casino Field at the Sanford Center beginning with a pre-season game on Sunday, February 8 against the Minnesota Sting of the NEFL.  The good guys open the regular season against the reigning IFL champion Sioux Falls Storm on Saturday, February 28.  Bemidji then goes on to play new expansion teams back-to-back:  the Iowa Barnstormers on Friday, March 13 and the Billings Wolves on Saturday, March 21.

After four straight games at home, the Axemen take to the road for a pair of games.  The team heads off to play conference rivals, the Green Bay Blizzard, on Sunday, March 29 before heading down south the Wichita Falls, Texas to take on the Wichita Falls Nighthawks on Saturday April 4.

The Axemen return home for back-to-back home games against the Tri-Cities Fever (Friday, April 10) and Cedar Rapids Titans (Saturday, April 18).  The following Saturday (April 25), the Axemen head to Grand Island, NE to take on the reigning Intense Conference champion Nebraska Danger before coming back home for a matchup with Green Bay on Saturday, May 2.

Bemidji goes back on the road for two games against the Colorado Ice (Saturday, May 9) and Billings (Saturday, May 16) before returning home for their final home game of the regular season on Saturday, May 30 against Sioux Falls.

To close the regular season, the Axemen go on the road to Des Moines, IA to take on the Barnstormers on Saturday, June 6 and then it’s on to Cedar Rapids on Saturday, June 13 to end the regular season.

Bemidji, MN – The Bemidji Axemen are proud to announce that they have re-signed  All-IFL wide receiver to their 2015 roster.

Balentine, the leading receiver for the team in 2014, finished last year’s campaign with 71 receptions for 1,029 yards and 14 touchdowns on his way to 1 st Team All-IFL honors.  The re-signing of Balentine adds another lethal piece to an excellent Axemen receiving corps.

“We are really excited to have Ryan back with the team,” stated Axemen head coach Dixie Wooten.  “He’s one of the best receivers in this league, without a doubt.  The people here in Bemidji love watching him play.”

Before joining the Axemen, Balentine played for the Green Bay Blizzard where he lead the team in receiving with 74 receptions for 834 yards and 12 touchdowns on his way to a 2 nd Team All-IFL selection in 2013.

Balentine played collegiately at the University of Southern Mississippi where he caught 65 passes for 883 yards and eight touchdowns.  His senior campaign was his best, recording 49 receptions for 742 yards and eight touchdowns for the Golden Eagles.

Bemidji, MN – The Bemidji Axemen look to improve their high-flying offense with the signings of wide receiver Darnell Williams and running back Brandon Anderson.

Williams spent two season at Louisiana College where he notched 3,720 all-purpose yards and 28 touchdowns on his way to two straight All-Conference selections.  Most recently he played for the New Orleans VooDoo of the AFL.
